Named 2019 SSU Distinguished Alumnus

This weekend, fresh back from our trip to Scotland, we're headed to Portsmouth, Ohio for a visit of my Alma Mater, Shawnee State University. We're going to the Shawnee State's Annual President's Gala, where I'll be presented with Shawnee State University's 2019 Distinguished Alumnus Award.

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is the top of five Alumnus awards designed to recognized "outstanding individuals" who "possess high standards of integrity and character" and "are recognized for numerous accomplishments in their chosen fields and in the community."

I'm honored to be named Shawnee State University's 2019 Distinguished Alumnus Award, which is presented each year to an alumnae or alumnus who has demonstrated "distinguished professional achievement."

I'm looking forward to the Gala. The accompanying filet mignon dinner will be nice, too!

Nessie II

According to even die-hard Nessie hunters, the Loch Ness Monster may have died. Sightings are down.

Not to worry: we're putting three generations of Goodmans on the case.

My Daughter, Nicole, is studying abroad this semester at Edinburgh Napier University. So for spring break, my wife, son, and I are going to visit her. Joining us are my own parents. Three generations of Goodmans in Scotland at the same time.

Nataliya and I visited Scotland in 2014, so this will be a reunion in more way than one. We plant so spend most of our time in Edinburgh, but will take a trip Sterling Castle, most likely Glasgow, and plan to spend a day in the highlands with a cruise along Loch Ness in search of Nessie. I'll be sure to bring along my Loch Ness Monster hunting hat that I brought back in 2014.
