Back from CA, off to Ox-Bow!

I’ve been touring California for the past two weeks, attending a conference in San Francisco and fitting in the sights on the side, visiting San Jose (where I was born) and Monterey (where I lived) and Los Angeles (Hollywood, Santa Monica, Burbank, Beverley Hills, etc.). I even took a pilgrimage to Salinas to John Steinbeck’s boyhood home and the National Steinbeck Center. But I’ll have to write about those experiences later.

After two weeks away from home and two days back, I’m hitting the road again. This time, for my two-week residency at Ox-Bow.

You can read more about Ox-Bow in my last post. In a nutshell, it’s a modern-day Walden. I’ll be the only writer-in-residence in a community of artists coming from around the world and sharing in a two-week residency. The 115-acre sanctuary for artists has been promoting art, thought, and discussion for 100 years. Fed on wholesome local food and the inspirational scenery, we’ll each be given time to immerse ourselves in our work and share a bit of it with one another.

Learn more about Ox-Bow at the following link. And wish me luck as I write there in the coming weeks!
